Peter Berwing, Chairman of the DECT Forum Board said: “In 2000 many countries outside Europe opened their markets for DECT products, allowing us to benefit from the DECT Forum’s efforts to develop those markets in the past. In the years to come, we will see continued growth of our business in particular in Asia and South America”. Heinz Ochsner, the Forum’s Secretary, added: “Also in Europe, where in some countries DECT accounts for more than 90% of the cordless telephones market, the introduction of new data products, started in 2000, will leverage the already successful market to further growth”.

During the “DECT 2001” conference, the DECT Forum will present more achievements of the DECT industry and elaborate further the development of the markets. “DECT 2001” is the annual conference and exhibition, uniting the DECT industry for the exchange of news and knowledge. It will be held for the 6th year, in the Hilton Hotel, Barcelona (Spain), on 16 and 17 January 2001.
